3 days in London

Filed under: travel, Art — gbock @ 2:41 pm

Took a quick trip to London.  I crammed as much as I could in in three days.

Trafalgar Square

Portrait of a Grotesque Woman.  Painting in the National Gallery.

St. Paul’s cathedral.

Blurry postcard from the interior of St. Paul’s.

Another blurry postcard featuring the ceiling of St. Paul’s.

Sculpture of a giant head in the British Museum.

Mayan Wall carving from the British Museum.

Heads on Spikes.

Temple in the British Museum.

This is the great hall that houses the Parthenon exteriors.

Statues from the exterior of the Parthenon.

Man trying to knee a centaur.

Post apocalyptic bunker installation at the Tate Modern.

Andy Warhol piece at the Tate Modern.

Graffiti space of the Tate Modern.

Painting of two ladies at the Tate Britain.  The painting is of two ladies who were born on the same day, married on the same day, and gave birth to children on the same.  This incredible series of events warranted their portraits.

Also, since being here, I’m blasting through sketchbooks

Scalding Tea page 4 of Sketchbook 8

Birthday party page 8 of sketchbook 8

Fat Samurai Vs. the Hydra page 12 of sketchbook 8

Page 108 of Sketchbook 7 which is a sketch of the print….
